Podiatry First, Inc. is an Independent Podiatrist Association organized as a Florida corporation formed for the purposes of: Promoting and developing a coordinated cost-effective network for the distribution and delivery of podiatry services by its providers Improving the delivery and quality of podiatry care

We are a single specialty Podiatric IPA that presently contracts on a capitated basis with managed care organizations. We currently represent 75 physicians with over 800,000 covered lives. Podiatry First providers are licensed to practice podiatric medicine and surgery. The network is not intended to be exclusive.

What Sets Us Apart Podiatry First has been coordinating quality cost-effective capitated podiatric care for patients affiliated with Managed Care Organizations since 1993. We have established an independent association of board qualified/certified podiatrists who benefit from their affiliation with the network. The ability to provide a combination of benefits to our providers has enabled the network to contract in a cost-effective manner. Our strategic partnership with Global Healthcare Alliance provides us with an industry awarded claims processing and IPA management system.

The network is under the control and direction of the Podiatry First Board of Directors. The Board of Directors has created various committees for the administration of the Network. Network Development and Maintenance Podiatry First is administered by podiatrists who have been involved in network management and capitated contracting since 1984. We understand the needs of both the provider and the managed care organization. Peer Review/Credentialing The network implements practice standards and guidelines in order to create and promote efficient and cost-effective delivery of podiatry services. Claims Adjudication The network has developed claims management protocols and software that allows us to adjudicate and bundle services appropriately to allow for the equitable distribution of the network's capitated payment to its respective providers. Quality Assurance and Utilization Review The administration of the network is under the supervision of podiatrists who are board certified by the American Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization Review Physicians. Utilization review and analysis performed is consistent with industry standards. Podiatry First, Inc. is managed by the Ankle + Foot Center of Tampa Bay, P.A. pursuant to a written management services agreement. The Ankle + Foot Center of Tampa Bay, P.A. is responsible for all administrative, management, and marketing services for the network. These duties include the responsibility to review, evaluate, negotiate, and execute agreements (such as managed-care arrangements), on behalf of the network, with health care service plans, hospital service plans, health maintenance organizations, and other purchasers of podiatry services.
